Boeing "Dreamliner" touches down in Great Falls – "the right airport for testing so it was a perfect match."

Aviation buffs may have noticed a pretty big plane in the skies over Great Falls on Thursday – it is one of Boeing’s new 787 "Dreamliner" planes.

As of last week, the plane had more than 700 hours of flight time and has made trips to Billings and Australia.

Boeing spokesman Adam Tischler says there’s a couple of reasons for testing in Great Falls; first, Great Falls International Airport is able to handle the size of the plane.

And the second is the weather; Tischler said, "Made sense with the wind that you have. We were looking to make sure that we could test the airplane with the appropriate winds. So they were in Great Falls today and we had the right airport so it was a perfect match."
