Montana Chapter of HIMSS Announces Student Sponsorships!

The Montana Chapter of HIMSS, is pleased to announce that its 2014 Spring Convention & Trade Show has been scheduled for May 15th and 16th at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort near Anaconda, Montana.

One of our organization’s prime missions is to promote networking and educational opportunities to future HIT professionals in an effort to "grow our own" resources as a solution to HIT staffing shortages experienced across Montana. To that end, the Montana Chapter of HIMSS is offering student sponsorships to cover convention expenses, as well as additional funds to cover HIMSS student membership fees.

Eligibility Requirements: Current full-time student in a MT or online HIT or HIM program. Montana students enrolled in out-of-state online programs (e.g., a Masters-level program in Nursing Informatics) also qualify. Program must meet HIMSS requirements at: http://www.himss.org/Membership/Content.aspx?ItemNumber=2629

Award: Sponsorship includes HIMSS student membership, waiver of conference fees and reimbursement for lodging expenses. Current plans call for the award of ten (10) student sponsorships. However, this number may increase or decrease slightly dependent on the number of applicants and the availability of funds. Applications MUST be received by January 31, 2014 in order to be considered. The Montana HIMSS Sponsorship Selection Committee will notify the students who have been selected for sponsorship via email on or before February 28, 2014.

1. Download and complete the membership application.

2. Download and complete the sponsorship application, which includes a short essay.

3. Email both documents to [email protected] on or before 1/31/2014.

4. Students will be notified if they have been selected for sponsorship on or before 2/28/2014.
