Montana Career Opportunity – System Administrator – Galusha, Higgins, & Galusha (Helena, MT office)

The purpose of this position is to administer and contribute to network design, implementation, organization, and troubleshooting. This includes managing network servers, monitoring underlying communication protocols and supporting network hardware, reviewing and analyzing software and hardware needs, and recommending changes and upgrades where applicable to provide efficient, effective, and timely service to users in the Firm. We work as a team.

1. Surveys performance needs and goals of LAN users.

2. Interfaces with users, technical teams and others for guidance to determine hardware installations.

3. Help design and specify LAN configurations according to user needs.

4. Create/delete employee profiles (e.g., logins and passwords in network and software applications).

5. Help maintain the Firm’s website and web use.

6. Assist in preparing charts and diagrams to explain network operations.

7. Help facilitate software training when requested.

8. Help with appropriate security procedures to safeguard systems.

9. Assist with setting up new workstations for users.

10. Perform minor repairs to equipment related to the network, servers and workstations.

11. Maintain the backup systems and assist with the disaster recovery process.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

At least 3 years of technology experience with accounting knowledge and a history of working in a professional services environment.

Degree from a recognized technology training organization of at least 2 years in duration.
