Family Medicine Residency program a huge step for Montana

A new residency program http://fmrwm.umt.edu/ is looking to change rural community medical facilities one doctor at a time. It’s been a long time coming, or rather, NEEDED to boost Montana’s rural medical community.

Professionals in the industry say ranking 50th in the country for medical graduates isn’t just a number, it’s a huge problem.

"It’s an immense step for the state, but crucial to try and have more availability for physicians here," said Dr. Ned Vasquez, FMRWM Program Director.
