Montana Main Street Program Grant Cycle to Open Nov. 15

The Montana Main Street Program (MMS) is pleased to announce Friday, November 15 as the opening of its next cycle of community project grants. Grants will be awarded on a continuous basis as funding remains and applications will be assessed in the order that they are received. MMS awards grant funding for a variety of activities including long range community planning, downtown revitalization, historic preservation and economic development projects.

MMS grant applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria (please note new criteria #5):

1. Need for project and an overall emphasis on downtown revitalization and historic preservation

2. Proposed project adopts and incorporates the Main Street Center Four Point Approach

3. Availability of matching funds and larger project effort to identify/secure additional funding

4. Degree of unified local effort and support and an overall ability to fulfill project plan/goals

5. Applicant community has submitted required Montana Main Street reinvestment statistics.

Main Street communities interested in applying for FY 2014 MMS grant funding can find the updated grant application on the MMS website at the following link: http://mtmainstreet.mt.gov/application.mcpx.

Please refer to the new Main Street Program Guidelines, located at the above link, for more detailed information about grant funding including award criteria, required match, eligible activities, and administrative procedures. The guidelines also detail our program mission, tier system, steps to becoming a member community, reporting requirements, and member services.
