Louisville, Ky., to Adopt ‘Open by Default’ Data Plan

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

Louisville’s announcement makes it the fifth U.S. city to formalize its open data policy this year.

"I think we want to get to a point where we have everything out there," Poynter said. "So having this policy in place we’ll be working to get as much out there as possible so you don’t have to ask anymore and put in an open records request. But that’s going to take some time."
