The software, Star Trek-like in its laser and human movement manipulation, helps solve practical problems like mapping DNA in order to track mutations and genetics.
"It’s used to create virtual models that you can apply real-world physics to," said Vignali.
The High Performance Computing program is funded by the Montana Department of Commerce as a Montana State Universitywide initiative. It includes a separate computing cluster, located in the Mining/Geology Building.
