Missoula County Public Schools innovation team looks to future of learning

What would happen if Missoula’s schools encouraged students to fail as part of their intellectual discovery – and to encourage a culture of persistence?

What if students were allowed to learn at their own pace?

What if classrooms were more like kitchens, and less like computer labs, where learning takes place in a dynamic mix of community, collaboration and imagination?

Such thoughts – and many others – were part of the discussion on Monday during the first day of Missoula County Public Schools’ weeklong comprehensive long-range facilities planning workshop.
