OMNIBAR – Montana-made endurance bar set to hit market this fall

Omnibar http://omnibars.com/ – a new kind of energy bar hitting the market this fall – is the product of a meeting between a Blackfoot rancher looking for a new market for his grass-fed beef, and a former elite endurance athlete turned exercise science researcher convinced there was a better way to fuel hungry muscles.

"We started talking over breakfast and Cooper dropped this idea about grass-fed beef jerky. I said, ‘it’s too expensive,’ " said Brent Ruby, who happened to be training for the Iron Man triathlon in Kona, Hawaii, when he met Cooper Burchenal for breakfast three and a half years ago.

Ruby is the director of the Montana Center for Work Physiology and Exercise Metabolism http://coehs.umt.edu/wpem/ , affiliated with the University of Montana’s Department of Health and Human Performance.
