Bozeman genetics company Golden Helix http://www.goldenhelix.com/ announced today that it has hired Andreas Scherer as its new president and CEO.

Founder and CEO Christophe Lambert is moving into a new role as chairman, where he’ll focus on the company’s overall strategy and direction.

Impetus for the change comes from Lambert’s view that Golden Helix’s main focus — creating tools to help researchers read and understand information contained in DNA — is expanding beyond the world of academic research and into the realm of clinical applications.
