Yellowstone County, Montana – Energy, health care should be focus of business recruitment efforts

The booming oil and gas sector, companies involved in health care and firms interested in locating regional headquarters and back-office operations, represent the best opportunities for recruiting new business into Yellowstone County, says a new business recruiting strategy released Thursday.

Not only have those sectors experienced significant growth in recent years, Billings enjoys a competitive advantage compared to similar communities interested in attracting them, according to the targeted industry analysis prepared for Big Sky Economic Development, Yellowstone County’s economic development agency.

Chris Seals, an economist for RDA Global, one of the consultants hired to conduct the study, said Yellowstone County has a lot of momentum as it moves forward with a plan to recruit new business.
