Miss Montana talks at UGF Disability Awareness Week

Cedric Hewitt had an idea.

He wanted to invite Miss Montana, Alexis Wineman, to speak during Disability Awareness Week at the University of Great Falls.

On Tuesday, he saw his idea come to life.

Wineman spoke to students and the UGF community about living with autism and raising awareness of those who are not "normal." She was the first autistic competitor in the Miss America pageant.

Hewitt, a sophomore at UGF, has autism. He said programs like the awareness week at UGF "allow people who would be considered normal to experience what it’s like to be different."
