Aeronautics company eyes land at Helena airport

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

A new aeronautics parts company could be interested in leasing land in Helena.

Tom Hoffman, the former owner of Summit Aeronautics Group, toured a site at Helena Regional Airport last week and on Friday said he was just looking to see what was available.

His discussions with the Airport Authority, he said, are in their initial stages.

"I’m just looking at it to see what can be put together," Hoffman said, declining additional comment regarding plans for Pioneer Aerostructures until he had more definitive information to provide.
