Montana Legislation could either sharpen or weaken local government tool for economic development

Two pieces of pending legislation could drastically change the way Montana cities encourage economic growth.
The bills relate to the handling of tax increment finance districts, known as TIFs, which are generally used to pay for infrastructure improvements such as new roads or additional parking.
