Anne Boothe, Scholarship Chair announces:

The MEDA Scholarship Committee is announcing the spring Rick Jones Memorial Scholarship round is now open. Please review the criteria information and then fill out the application form. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide an individual funding for training to enhance his/her economic development professional skills. Both files are available at this link:

Applications are to be received by 5:00pm March 29th.

Because MEDA has committed significant funds to lower the registration costs for our member participation in NDC (National Development Council) coursework, it is not eligible for scholarship assistance.

Kellie Danielson, Chair, Professional Development Committee, has been working to bring Dave Kolzow to train on "Managing Organizations for Efficiencies and Sustainability" to Montana on May 8th, just prior to the MEDA conference on the 9th and 10th. Thanks to a sponsorship from PPL Montana, this training will be affordable for all. MEDA scholarships, however, will be allowed for this event.

Dr. Kolzow is currently President of Kolzow and Associates which does economic development consulting and recently served as the Chair of the Department of Economic Development & Planning at the University of Southern Mississippi for four years. He has over twenty-five years of consulting experience in site selection, real estate development planning, and community economic development. His past clients include numerous communities, states, and some of the largest land developers in the nation.

Have a great weekend,
