Backpacking Light Raises $29,000 on Kickstarter to Fund PACKRAFTING Documentary & Online Instruction

Backpacking Light (http://www.backpackinglight.com) is in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign that will change the sport of Packrafting by funding:

– The Learn to Packraft! online video course series;

– The documentary film "The Packrafter".

A packraft is an inflatable, whitewater-worthy raft that weighs about 5 pounds. Packrafts are being used in combination with fatbikes ("bike-rafting"), mountain skis ("ski-raftineering"), and trail shoes ("raft-packing") to accomplish wilderness traverses over vast and remote landscapes.

In addition, packrafts are being used to descend remote, Class V creeks, waterfall drops, and big rivers (even the Grand Canyon has seen a number of packraft descents).
