University of Montana Alum Tim O’Leary and Michelle Cardinal Commit $1.25M to University

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

A 1981 University of Montana business graduate who rubbed shoulders with William Kittredge in the Creative Writing Program committed $1.25 million to the School of Business Administration http://www.business.umt.edu/ and the College of Arts and Sciences http://www.cas.umt.edu/casweb/ on Wednesday.

Tim O’Leary and Michelle Cardinal of Carson, Wash., included the endowment in a provision of their will. O’Leary has served on the UM Foundation’s board of trustees since 2009 and remains in his second three-year term.

"My experience at UM was the springboard into my professional career, which has been so gratifying," said O’Leary, who now serves as the CEO of the R2C Group http://www.r2cgroup.com . "It was a pretty unique opportunity to combine real work experience and the freedom to roam the campus and pick and chose my courses."
