Funding Needed – Violinists may love adjustable chin rest invented by musician raised in Great Falls, Montana
December 29, 2012 /
Jordan Hayes never really dreamed of becoming an inventor.
But Hayes, who grew up in Great Falls, realized while attending college at the Eastman School of Music that as a violinist he needed an adjustable chin rest.
So he invented one; the patent is pending.
"I have to raise $18,000 in 30 days," he said in an interview Friday. The $18,000 in pledges, through a website called Kickstarter, will enable Hayes to manufacture and ship his first 500 to 1,000 Kréddles. Visit Hayes’ website, http://www.kreddle.com if you’d like to help or want to receive one of the devices as a reward for supporting his venture.
