Missoula-based biotech startup looking to expand – Rocky Mountain Biologicals Inc.

"Any child susceptible to RSV or who gets RSV will get vaccinated with a component we’re making here in Missoula, Montana," Daniel said. "It’s a huge milestone."

Suresh Daniel managed to raise, as he describes it, a "heckuva a lot" of money to launch his biotech startup, Rocky Mountain Biologicals Inc. http://rmbio.com/ , in 2005.

A former research director at Western Montana Clinic, Daniel raised a total of $8 million mostly from local investors to support his idea to start a company that manufactures custom bovine protein products and sells to pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Rocky Mountain found early success in that area, continuing its work with protein products while branching off to explore other opportunities along the way.

Last year, Rocky Mountain employed three people. Today it’s a 15-person operation and Daniel plans to hire more in near future.
