Wireless Tax Moratorium: A boon to state’s economy, consumers

As Max Baucus, Montana’s senior senator and chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, has said, how we use the U.S. tax code creates incentives or disincentives to such worthwhile goals as economic growth, technology innovation, and badly needed relief for the middle class.

"I’m committed to narrowing the digital divide and bringing more high-paying technology jobs to our state," Baucus has said.

Baucus’s support for the Wireless Tax Fairness Act (S. 543), currently awaiting Senate action before the end of the year, would be a positive step in the direction of just the kind of economic stimulation and increased access to wireless broadband Internet and phone service that the senator has pledged to bring home to Montana.
