Tourism researcher: Billings travel industry booming due to better marketing
November 30, 2012 /
Every day during the first nine months of this year, at least 77 percent of the 4,000 hotel rooms in Billings were booked. That’s a healthy 22 percent increase in hotel occupancy from three years ago.
Tourism researcher Judy Randall said Thursday that an improving economy and a regional oil boom are helping to put heads in the beds. But the biggest reason behind the increase is that Billings is doing a better job of marketing itself to vacationers, business travelers and convention visitors.
