Utah offering grants to help bring new technologies to market

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development is accepting applications for its Technology Commercialization and Innovation Program grant competition.

The competition is a state-funded grant program that was developed for the purpose of commercializing cutting-edge technologies developed at Utah’s colleges and universities.
There are two types of eligible applicants for the $40,000 grants.

One is a faculty-led team at a Utah college or university, public or private. The other eligible application is an existing or startup company that has licensed or is in the process of licensing a technology from a Utah college or university.

For information and instruction for the online application, visit http://business.utah.gov/programs/coe/. The deadline for applying is noon on Jan. 3.
