Feds award Portland area groups $1.8 million grant for manufacturing jobs

Portland-area economic development groups will share a federal manufacturing jobs grant worth nearly $1.8 million, officials announced today.
The Columbia River Economic Development Council, a Vancouver nonprofit, said the grant will bring together employers and universities to focus on manufacturing in a five-county region: Mulnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties in Oregon and Clark and Cowlitz in Washington.
