Montana ranks 46th for percentage of tax filers making over $200,000

A map provided this week by the Tax Foundation shows that 1.77 percent of Montana’s tax filers reported making $200,000 or more in 2010, ranking the state 46th nationwide.
Topping the list was Washington, D.C., where 5.66 percent of its tax filers reported making over $200,000.
The top state was Connecticut, with 5.46 percent, next was New Jersey with 5.26 percent, then Massachusetts with 4.82 percent, Maryland with 4.45 percent and Virginia with 4.39 percent.
