Montana Career Opportunity – Senior Software Engineer – Sterling Bank Services

Sterling Bank Services is looking for an accomplished developer to join our small corporate development team in beautiful Missoula, MT. The primary focus of our development effort is custom work management applications that are strategically at the heart of our company’s operations. Our primary development environment is the Grails framework for the Java platform, although we are also beginning development on the Android platform for mobile phone applications, and exploring newer frameworks.

* Skills & Requirements

We’re looking for someone who:

* above all else, has excellent OO coding and design skills, creating software that works, is reliable, testable, and maintainable

* ideally has several years of experience in Java or Grails/Rails development, or instead, a proven track record of learning and developing real applications in multiple languages

* ability to foster solid agile development processes in team environment and mentor new developers and interns on best practices in team software development.

* has coding in their blood, coding even outside of work, with a constant desire to tinker with new technologies

* has solid user interface design skills and a command of core front end web development skills such as HTML, XML, CSS, jQuery, Web Services/REST

* thinks creatively and actively contributes alternative ideas to proposed design and development solutions

* ability to communicate effectively with non-technical people regarding technical details.

* has a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical or mathematical field of study or equivalent experience

* has ability to work in US
