The senior software developer creates new software applications and works with other software
developers in their work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Software application development

Data in motion analytics

MATLAB Outputs into other programming languages

InfoSphere Streams Compute environment

Ability to work with a team, collaborate and communicate effectively in written and oral forms

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities for both off-site and on-site personnel.

Education and/or Experience:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent with 5-8 years of experience.
Experience with C and C++ is required
Experience with Linux Operating System a plus.
Experience with Perl, SQL, Java, and Python preferred.
Should be comfortable with software abstraction and modularity, system portability, and
software evolution through planning, prioritizing, and refactoring.

Language Skills:

Must possess an excellent command of the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents
such as technical manuals, technical papers, publications, advanced business math skills, and quality
processes and procedures relevant to work environment. This position requires the ability to write
routine reports and correspondence, and must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, the individual should have experience in software application
development and the ability to learn new innovative language and concepts associated with parallel
computing.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must be able to obtain Top Secret Clearance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use
hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or
crawl and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work is primarily in the standard office environment, and the noise level in the work environment
is usually quiet.
