U.S. Treasury Awards Certification to Lake County Community Development Corporation

Lake County Community Development Corporation http://www.lakecountycdc.org/ was notified on June 25th, 2012 that it has been awarded certification as a Community Development Financial Institution through the United States Department of the Treasury.

As a Certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), Lake County Community Development Corporation (LCCDC) will have access to programs that increase services for small business technical assistance, business financing, and facility expansion projects. Including LCCDC, there are only 18 Community Development Financial Institutions in the state of Montana.

Asked about the importance of becoming a CDFI, Billie Lee, Executive Director at LCCDC commented, "Receiving this certification is an exciting step forward for LCCDC and the greater community. Our status as a CDFI will help attract and leverage capital that can increase job creation, business development, and commercial real estate development within our region."
