Mayor Taps Official to Aid Small Businesses

"For small to medium to national organizations, for events and fundraisers of any size, in any format – live, virtual or hybrid – the platform is built for scale."

The new initiative has a goal of allowing 95% of business applications and renewals to be handled online, an extension of the mayor’s larger attempt to digitize city services that long involved a tangle of paperwork.

About 65 licenses and permits can be obtained online, but hundreds more require an in-person visit to a government office. By the end of this year, the city intends to give businesses the ability to pay their property, business and excise taxes through the Internet.
