"WorkSafeMT" aims for safer Montana workplaces

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

Last year’s legislative reforms for the state workers’ compensation system have resulted in substantial employer premium savings, but there are more savings to be had through concerted efforts to reduce the number of workplace injuries in Montana.

That was the focus of a presentation at the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce luncheon Thursday led by Fred Miller, an occupational health and safety specialist.

Miller represents "WorkSafeMT," http://www.worksafemt.com/ a nonprofit organization working to raise awareness among employers about just how much can be saved when a "culture of safety" is established in a workplace.
