Companies and Idaho seek ways to hire and help train the next workforce in the state

At Idaho Power, more than 25 percent of the company’s 2,000 employees are people who could retire today. Within a decade, that is expected to grow to 60 percent.
Mark Slusser, an Idaho Power engineer who has developed and improved power-delivery systems for the company for nearly 30 years, will retire in July. When he goes, his knowledge and expertise will go with him.
And his replacement isn’t yet in sight. Whoever it is, "they are going to need to ask a lot of questions," he said.
