The Prospera Business Network https://www.prosperabusinessnetwork.org Business Analyst is responsible for providing technical assistance to business throughout Gallatin and Park County, and assisting clients with Prospera loan programs or other SBA loan packages. The Business Analyst provides business consulting and should be prepared to analyze financing options for business start-up and expansion, and to develop financing packages with multiple funding sources. As a valued member of a small team, s/he plays an instrumental role in implementing programs as part of Prospera’s mission.

Minimum Qualifications include:

Four-year college degree in finance, accounting or business administration is required, with course work in business finance and financial statement analysis preferred.

Acceptable experience in lieu of education would be a minimum of five years experience in commercial lending, accounting, business consulting or management, but some formal training in business finance and financial statement analysis is essential.

Knowledge of commercial financing practices and procedures, including preparation of sound business plans, maintenance of business accounting systems, analysis of financial statements (ratios, cash flow, breakeven point, etc.) to gauge business performance, capacity of debt repayment, and make recommendations regarding product pricing, management practices, and marketing strategies.

Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient with computerized loan portfolio management and word processing, as well as office technology.

Applicants for the position should be able to demonstrate skills in preparing and presenting written and oral loan summaries, and portfolio reports using computerized financial analysis programs and loan portfolio management software; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, lenders, clients, investors, loan committee members, state and federal government agencies, and the general public.

Knowledge of collateral lien laws and procedures, including the ability to properly attach and perfect lien positions on various types of collateral.

Duties of this Position:

The Business Analyst provides technical assistance/business consulting for both the Montana Women’s Business Center clients, and Prospera’s Accelerated Entrepreneur Program clients. S/he is responsible for developing technical assistance plans as appropriate for the client.

Preparation of appropriate loan documentation to adequately document and close loans made under our loan programs.

S/he will also be responsible for management of loan programs, preparation of loan summaries for the loan committee and preparing and submitting required reports (quarterly, semi-annual and annual) to funding partners (including state and federal agencies and the private sector).

S/he will be responsible for outreach to build relations with local commercial lenders, business consultants, investors, and businesses to promote our financial programs and services.

The Business Analyst will work closely with the Executive Director on major economic development projects that include financial assistance from state or federal agencies, on recapitalization of the loan fund, and will be expected to report to the Board of Directors on the overall performance of the organizations loan program.
