City hackathon to unite developers, artists, government

For at least 12 hours this weekend, one block of downtown Palo Alto will belong to the nerds.

That’s the playful declaration of a video promoting the Super Happy Block Party Hackathon, which organizers say will bring together software developers, artists and local government officials for the first time.

"It’s absolutely new ground we’re breaking," said Talenthouse spokesman Frederik Hermann. His firm, headquartered in Palo Alto, is hosting the event, along with Innovation Endeavors, Super Happy Dev House, Institute for the Future, and the City of Palo Alto.
