Montana Means Energy March 2012

When I visit with Bakken oil producers, I ask them how things are going. "Great" they
say, except for one thing–the bottleneck.

They don’t mention taxes, because they
know Montana has one of the best tax climates in the nation, according to the
conservative Tax Foundation. And they know taxes on oil and gas in Montana are a full
20 percent lower than our neighbors’. They don’t mention our regulatory environment,
because our permitting too is done more efficiently than the competition’s. Brigham
Energy recently praised Montana for its "good operating environment."
