Made in Montana Marketplace aims at pairing producers with wholesale buyers

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

Prior to Friday, Ann Prescott, owner of Pioneer Mountain Pantry http://pioneermountainpantry.com/ , had never participated in a trade show.

However, her booth at the Made in Montana Marketplace http://www.madeinmontanamarketplace.com/ , displaying baking mixes specifically designed to be made in a Dutch oven over a campfire, looked as though it was designed by a pro.

The booth was decorated with raft oars and fishing rods, with Dutch ovens set up to show how the products can be made.

"They’re geared to make while you’re camping," said Prescott, of Gallatin Gateway.

Prescott was pleased that organizers paired her with a returning exhibitor to serve as a mentor prior to the marketplace.

"She was dynamite," Prescott said. "I had never been, and didn’t know what to expect."
