South Dakota Offers Web Resources for Students, Parents and Educators

The South Dakota Department of Education and Cultural Affairs has launched a new website, South Dakota Ed Web, with three sets of searchable databases designed for students, parents, and educators.

Ed Web was designed to implement Governor William Janklow’s original idea of having one website bring together the best educational content on the Internet. The website includes more than 66,000 links. These links, which have been evaluated and recommended by a review team of South Dakota parents and educators, include the following resources.

* Standards-based lesson plans and materials

* Professional development opportunities

* Assistance with homework

* Research for classroom subjects, searchable by subject and grade level

* Parenting website
