Chicks in Science spawns all-girl robotics team in Billings, Montana

Seven teens on a Girl Scout team built the robot, which is pushing, scooping, lifting and driving its way toward a world championship robotics tournament in April.

The team, made up of high school students from the Billings Career Center’s Engineering Club, already captured the most prestigious prize at the Montana robotics tournament in Bozeman in early February.

Last spring’s day-long Chicks in Science event, which uses hands-on activities to motivate girls to pursue careers in science and math, forged the critical connection in forming the all-girl team.
