Montana No Kid Hungry Initiative Launches with Governor Brian Schweitzer

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

The Rocky Mountain Head Start Council was buzzing this afternoon as Share Our Strength, partnering with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, and the Montana Governor’s Office, held the official launch for its Montana No Kid Hungry initiative http://mt.nokidhungry.org/ .

In Montana, a state with just over 1 million people, 48,000 children are at risk of hunger. Despite being "The Treasure State," our state’s real treasures, our children, are at risk of obesity, malnutrition, slower cognitive development, and increased illness. The State of Montana partnered with Share Our Strength to end childhood hunger and give every child an equal opportunity to learn, grow, and play.
