MSU College of Business hires five professors-Anne L. Christensen, Scott Bryant, Steve Crowley, Ania Rose and Jake Rose

The MSU-Bozeman College of Business has hired five new faculty members.

They are:

Scott Bryant, assistant professor of management, will teach strategic management and principles of management in MSU’s management option. Bryant recently authored or co-authored several papers including "Proceedings for USASBE (U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship)" ""Strategic Knowledge Management in SMEs: Managing Knowledge Throughout the Organizational Life Cycle."

"I chose to come to MSU-Bozeman because it combines a high quality academic experience with a breathtakingly beautiful Rocky Mountain setting," Bryant said.

Prior to joining the COB staff this past fall, Anne L. Christensen, professor of accounting, taught at Portland State University for 13 years. Christensen was hired to teach tax, in the accounting option at MSU. She is the past president and a current board member of the American Taxation Association, a group of more than 1,000 tax professors and professionals from throughout the world dedicated to improving tax education and fostering tax research. Christensen recently co-authored "New Accounting Scholars’ Publications in Accounting and Non-accounting Journals."

Steve Crowley, assistant professor of accounting, teaches cost/managerial accounting. Crowley graduated with high honors from the University of Montana, where he also received his master of accountancy. He is currently completing his doctorate in accounting from the University of Utah. Crowley previously taught at the University of Montana and at the University of Utah as he was studying for his doctorate.

"I chose to come to MSU because we have a top-ranked accounting program and because I grew up in Helena and have spent most of my life in Montana. It’s great to be back home."

Ania Rose, assistant professor of accounting, is teaching financial accounting and accounting research for the Master of Accountancy Program. Her future roles will include teaching international accounting for the program. Prior to coming to MSU-Bozeman, she taught for two years at the University of Tennessee and also taught in an executive MBA program in Taiwan. Her past teaching credentials also include Texas A&M University, Oklahoma City University, Bryant College, and additional MBA teaching at Edge Hill College, England, and MBA teaching at Lucent Technologies in Oklahoma City.

Jake Rose, assistant professor of accounting, received his doctorate in accounting information systems, master’s of science and a bachelor’s of business administration from Texas A&M University. He taught for two years at the University of Tennessee prior to coming to MSU-Bozeman College of Business to teach accounting information systems. He is a research fellow for the Center for Continuous Auditing and a member of the editorial boards for the Journal of Information Systems and the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems. Rose has published many research papers on accounting in journals such as: Accounting, Organizations and Society; International Journal of Accounting Information Systems; Advances in Accounting Behavioral Research; and Journal of Accountancy.
