Montana State University five-year plan seeks to get students engaged in real-world projects

Montana State University rolled out for the public Wednesday a proposed "strategic plan" http://www.montana.edu/planningcouncil/spc/draftstratplan that sets ambitious goals for the next five to 10 years and calls for getting all students involved in real-world projects, around the globe or in local communities.

As currently drafted, the plan appears to put less emphasis on scientific research, a $103 million enterprise at the university. But participants said there’s no intention of downplaying the role of research in MSU’s future.
