City Council OKs grant to help small Missoula tech company TerraEchos expand by 25

A high-tech Missoula company is poised for significant growth over the next two years with help from a Missoula City Council vote Monday approving a $178,125 grant.

TerraEchos http://www.terraechos.com/ , which specializes in surveillance technology, will receive the state of Montana Big Sky Trust Fund award through a contract with the city of Missoula. The money will pay for things like computers, training and infrastructure to help the company of six boost its staff by 25 employees.

"I’m shooting for 10 to 12 (new hires) in the first year, and there’s growth beyond that to meet our obligations," founder and president Alex Philp said after the council meeting.
