Plum Creek Contributes $10,000 for New FVCC Nursing and Health Science Center

The Plum Creek Foundation has contributed a $10,000 grant to the Flathead Valley Community College Foundation to help fund the new Rebecca Chaney Broussard Center for Nursing and Health Science which includes a student health clinic on the college’s Kalispell campus.

The $5.75 million center will accommodate the college’s expansion of its nursing, emergency management and related health science programs to help meet the need for skilled health care professionals in Northwest Montana. The center also will include a 1,000-square-foot student health clinic which will provide basic health care services for low income students.

"This new facility will enable FVCC to enhance our health science programs and provide limitless opportunities for our students," said FVCC President Jane Karas, Ph.D. "We are grateful to the Plum Creek Foundation who understand the importance of quality health care in our community and support our vision to provide affordable health care to our students through the new student health clinic. More than 70 percent of our students depend on financial assistance to attend college, and many cannot afford health insurance."
