Montana economy: New data show increasing emphasis on education, training – Montana Economy: Outlook 2012

When it comes to forecasting what the Montana economy will be like in 2012 and beyond, nothing is certain.

But statistics gathered by the Montana Department of Labor and Industry during the recession years – 2007-2010 – give a clear picture of what happened to employment in the state and what will likely unfold in the future.

One hard-to-dispute fact has emerged: A Montanan who has high levels of education and training has more job security, personal wealth and employment options than his neighbor with less schooling and skills.
