Get answers about the economy at Boise forum

If you´ve got any questions about the Boise economy, you can
probably find an answer Thursday at the Boise Centre on the Grove.

Manufacturing, commercial and residential real estate, high technology, tourism and the
regional and national economy are topics local economists, bankers, executives, developers,
and business owners plan to explore throughout the day.

It´s all part of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce´s annual Economic Outlook Forum,
which will be held in conjunction with Metro Expo Fall. The trade show will include panel
discussions on the local real estate market, networking opportunities, an update on plans for
a new convention center downtown, and a forecast on what 2003 holds for downtown´s
economy.

“To draw more people this year, we decided to combine a big member event with a one-day
trade show,” said Amy Doyle, spokesperson for the Boise Chamber.

The day begins at 7 a.m. with the Economic Outlook Forum, a $20 per person breakfast
gathering. During the two-hour presentation, panelists will discuss what happened in a
number of local industry sectors in 2002, and what can be expected in 2003. Industry topics
and their panelists are:

• High technology: Jay Hawkins, Micron Technology Inc.

• Real estate: Art Berry, Arthur Berry and Co.

• Government and education: John Church, Idaho Economics.

• Call centers/Business transaction centers: Travis McNair, Sears Roebuck and Co.

• National and regional outlook: John Mitchell, U.S. Bank´s economist for the western region.
