Whitefish-Based Algae Aqua-Culture Technology to Represent U.S. at Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Conference November 10 – 12, 2011 APEC CEO SUMMIT, Honolulu, Hawaii

Algae Aqua-Culture Technology (AACT) http://algaeaqua.com , the creators of the 5000 square foot Green Power Hous(TM), have been selected, as one of only five U.S. Companies, by the U.S. Department of Commerce to display their technology at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Conference starting Thursday, Nov. 10 in Honolulu, HI. AACT’s CEO Michael Smith will serve on the U.S. delegation and will be an exhibitor for the United States in the Small & Medium Enterprise Innovation Exhibit. The Annual APEC conference brings together the heads of 21 countries, and 17000 actual and virtual attendees, including President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Chinese President Hu Jintao, Philippine President Benigno Aquino and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda.

APEC held one of its earlier meetings in May of this year at Montana’s Big Sky Resort, and an initial presentation at that meeting led to the Honolulu invitation.

AACT’s Green Power Hous(TM) (GPH), combines wood, agricultural, and industrial waste with algae and stabilized carbon to produce high-value organic fertilizer. AACT will be joined in the U.S. booth by four other companies: Kai Medical; Oceanit; Open Entry, and Planned Systems International, Inc. The five companies were selected after a nationwide search for enterprises in the fields of education and training, health, information and communications, green/clean technology and food and agriculture.

Michael Smith, AACT’s CEO, said "We are honored to be able to show our innovation to governments and corporate leaders from around the world at a time when energy solutions are so desperately needed," said Smith. Smith described the Green Power House as "three billion years of renewable energy engineering experience at work." He was referring to the algae, one of the planet’s most ancient and evolved plants. "Algae efficiently converts solar energy into bioenergy. Algae grows faster than almost any other plant," Smith said.

AACT http://algaeaqua.com is finishing its Green Power House near Columbia Falls and two particular attributes make the GPH a great fit for Montana: It can use much of a company’s waste wood and agricultural product to economically heat and energize its greenhouses year-round, and then uses the waste gases and wood carbon to enhance its fertilizer product–so there is almost no waste, the process is carbon negative and it can be used economically twelve months a year to produce product and grow crops in cold climates like Montana’s.

AACT is also in end stage talks with two different Hawaiian organizations to license rights for the construction and operation in Hawaii of its Green Power House technology–through contacts developed by AACT’s Hawaiian Affiliate Directors, David Donald and Anne Lee.

AACT http://algaeaqua.com is dedicated to developing smart integrated technologies for a sustainable future
