Bay Limited Montana to add 250 jobs in Billings, Montana

Members of Big Sky Economic Development’s
board of directors voted unanimously this morning to make application to the State of
Montana’s Department of Commerce for a job creation incentive for Bay Limited Montana http://www.bayltd.com/ .

The
company was recently awarded a major contract and has plans to hire 250 pipefitters and
welders. Under the state’s Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund, the company is eligible
to receive up to $5,000 per eligible employee earning above Yellowstone County’s average
hourly wage. The grant application will request $1.25 million for the creation of primary sector
jobs and would be paid after the company hires the position and submits a request for
reimbursement. Montana’s BSTF grant program is designed to provide new and existing
companies who invest in new jobs the ability to fund worker training, infrastructure costs,
construction, and relocation costs.

The grant has been used successfully across the state of
Montana including Billings to incentivize companies like Bresnan Communications and GE
Capital to hire additional employees.

Big Sky Economic Development has worked closed with Bay Limited Montana, formerly
Berry Y&V, since 2008 when then Berry Y&V bought their current location at 2450 South 32nd
Street West. The company fabricates steel tanks and has been working diligently to secure a
contract to build oil refining modules for the Alberta oil sands.

Steve Arveschoug, Big Sky Economic Development’s Executive Director, was honored
to present the request to the board. "Bay Limited Montana is a great example of the kind of
company we want to continue to recruit to the communities of Yellowstone County. Not only
have they invested heavily into Billings, they’re hiring good paying jobs to manufacture
materials that will bring new dollars to our state. This is a homerun for Billings."

The state is expected to make a decision whether to approve the grant application by
mid-December.
