Rural Dynamics program roots out cyclical poverty by educating youth
Rural Dynamics http://www.ruraldynamics.org/ offers a course at Paris Gibson Alternative High School each semester with one goal: end cyclical poverty.
The high school financial literacy program tries to create a culture of financial awareness and sound financial behaviors, according to a release by United Way of Cascade County, which provides funds for the program.
About 25 students each semester complete the course, which focuses on tackling the problem of economic insecurity at the root, by teaching students to effectively manage their personal finances and allow them to contribute positively to the community, the United Way release states. Many more students take at least a portion of the class.
