Missoula, Montana company, Montana Mapping & GPS Inc. Produces Bakken Oil Field GPS Map shows Landowner Names, Property Lines, and Well locations

New mapping software designed for use on GPS units is available that gives detailed landowner information for the state of North Dakota and also has special features for the Bakken Oil Formation and Williston area http://www.huntinggpsmaps.com/north-dakota/northdakotabakkenoilfieldmaps.html .

The statewide map http://www.huntingGPSmaps.com shows all public and private land in a color coded system; initially designed for hunters accessing public land. Key features have been added including landowner names and property boundaries in Billings, Cass, McKenzie, Morton, Mountrail, Pembina, Richland, & Williams Counties. Also included are the location of wells, rigs, and gas plants along with oil and gas well data showing the well name and type.

The mapping software makes it easy to locate and navigate the oil fields of North Dakota. Other standard features on the map are roads and highways, 24k topography, water features, geographic names, ranch & farm house locations, hunting units, and township-range-section numbers.

The software was designed by Missoula, Montana company, MT Mapping & GPS, who created a line of mapping software for the hunting community known as HuntingGPSmaps. The software was designed to let sportsmen know the location of public and private property boundaries along with landowner names while out in the field. A key benefit of the map is having the user’s GPS location plotted on the map, saving time and the frustration of trying to decipher exactly where you are on the map. The look and feel of the map makes it easy to compare the user’s GPS location to paper maps such as BLM maps, Plat Book maps, Forest Service maps, and others.

Maps are currently available for 21 states and the response from the outdoor community has been tremendous. By adding specialized information for the Williston area the company hopes the map can be a beneficial tool for the community. The company’s Montana map already contains all of the landowners for the entire state including the Sidney area. The map has been a huge success in states such as MT and WY and survey companies have really picked up on the benefit of this easy to use mapping system.

The map can be easily loaded onto a GPS by purchasing a pre-loaded SD/microSD card that contains the entire state of North Dakota on it for $50 dollars. Or customers can look into getting a download version that can be installed on a computer and then transferred to a GPS unit for $60 dollars.

The Montana map is priced at 100/130 for the same options.
