Missoula Equestrian Park, College of Technology students to begin work on new arena

The Missoula Equestrian Park in Target Range has been a going, growing concern for almost 20 years, but a significant segment of the horse population was left in the dust.

One hefty backhoe shovel full of dirt Thursday morning signaled the end of that neglect.

Director Rod Frost and a class of 16 University of Montana College of Technology students will begin excavation work in earnest Monday on an arena to be situated, fittingly, on the west side of the 80-acre equestrian park where, by next year, saddles with horns will be the rule.
