Missoula Area Economic Development Corp. formally dissolves

The Missoula Area Economic Development Corp. http://www.maedc.org officially dissolved last week, after its board approved a final dissolution act and plan that has taken months to structure.

"This vote has ended the corporation," said board president Tim Descamps.

The nonprofit economic development organization’s board first passed a voluntary dissolution motion in July and has been working on a dissolution plan since.

Tough financial times and a changing economic development scene in Missoula, which includes the addition of the Missoula Economic Partnership http://www.bestplaceproject.com/ to the mix, forced the organization to make the decision to dissolve.
