Montana Department of Commerce Awards $11 Million For Educational Infrastucture Projects

Hamilton, Corvallis schools receive grants for facilities

Two school districts in the Bitterroot Valley have received substantial Quality Schools Project grants from the Montana Department of Commerce to upgrade their facilities in the coming year.

Corvallis School District was awarded $901,318 for the construction of a new vocational facility, while Hamilton School District received $751,000 to replace the boiler and heat distribution system at Washington Elementary School. The two grants were the second and third largest grants, respectively, awarded by the state this year. The DOC allocated over $11 million statewide for the grants, which are available on a competitive basis. Out of over 70 applications, only 30 projects were awarded grants statewide.
